New home, new look, and half a decade old!
5 years after the inception of my site, I finally took the plunge and got the site a domain name. We are now www.dennism.net instead of freewebs.com/dennis_web. I figure that after 5 years, I'd finally fulfill the dream of that 13 year old hoping for a website he can truly call his own. Well, that 13 year old is now 18 and his website is 5 years old. What better way to celebrate this milestone than to drastically change the place?
This website is a personal site, not meant to rival the likes of DailyKos or even some larger personal sites. Nope, this is just a site I created in 2004 because I had always wanted a site of my own. DennisWeb has grown over the years, from its humble beginnings at freeservers.com on October 31, 2004 (as dennishashisownweb.freeservers.com ... it's still there), to its home at freewebs.com/dennisweb a week later (November 7, 2004), then on to freewebs.com/dennis_web in January of 2006 (to use all HTML mode to make for more customizable templates), and finally to dennism.net in October of 2009. After all those moves, going months and months without having one single change made to the site, and several HTML disasters (can you say deleting half of the index page on accident?), it's still here and chugging along.
